I must appologize to all of you for my recent lack of blogging activity! I don’t know what hit me but I need to take some time off and reassess. The lovely @timkro asked me recently when the new video podcast would be up and it made me realize how long it has been since I last posted one. Well, the good news is I am planning on releasing some new video podcasts soon…but I’ve been wanting to turn things up a notch and hence I have been needing to take a bit of time to decide what it is that I want to do and how it is that I am going to accomplish it. So…bottom line is stay tuned and bare with me a little I will have some new live video podcast music for you coming soon.

On another note as most of you might know I will be playing at the Apple Store in Santa Monica this coming May 30th. The show will start at 6:00pm sharp. It is a very common L.A. trait to be fashionably late… it is also a very common chilean trait to be more than fashionably late…however I do my best to start on time out of respect for those of you who make it on time, so please please don’t come late (it’s happened before that some people came to a show late only to find that I had already played and it really broke my heart!). I am looking forward to seeing those of you who will be in the L.A. area. The best part of this show is that, besides of it being at the Apple Store which I think is pretty cool:), is that it is an all ages show and it’s free! So feel free to bring your friends, family, babies, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandparents and great grandparents, great uncles and aunts and even your in-laws

As most of you might know by now, my home country of Chile was hit by a huge 8.8 earthquake this past Saturday. Thank G’d my family and friends are all well safe and sound, but unfortunately many families are not. They lost their homes and loved ones.

As much as countries try to be prepared for these kinds of events, there is really no way to fully prepare for something of this magnitude. Many are on the street, homeless with their babies and children and have no available food or water.

It is very hard to be this far and feel so helpless…so in my own little effort to try and help somehow, I am offering an exclusive download in hopes that this will motivate people to help…You get a song someone gets a blanket, food and water. The song is called “All Around Me” and you can download it here You can pay what you like for it and 100% of your purchase (after Paypal transaction fees) will go to support Chile, the victims of the earthquake and relief efforts. I am leaving for Chile this next week G’d willing, granted that the airport which is now closed will open and allow flights to come into the country. Because I will be gone for 2 weeks I will be taking a small break from the weekly video podcasts. This week’s will be the last one until I come back. I will resume with video podcasts on Tuesday March 23rd and hopefully I will have news for you from Chile as well.

Hi guys and girls!

For this week’s podcast I decided to go for another cover …I was surfing youtube a few days ago and got inspired to do a cover of Coldplay’s “The Scientist”. I hope you will enjoy it. Next week I will be doing an original unreleased song.

Let’s see…news: This past week was fun and very busy. First of all I have to say that I am super psyched that “Heartbeat” has been on #1 spot in the singer-songwriter charts on uvumi.com for the past 4 days! Plus last week 3 of my songs were in the top 10 of the pop charts AND “I Wonder How” was #2 in the singer-songwriter charts as at the same time as “Heartbeat” was #1. Wow! I am super amazed and grateful for everyone who’s been playing my songs as well as handing out precious hearts to me on www.thesixtyone.com

This past Sunday I had the honor of sharing the stage with some very talented musicians, amongst them Pharaoh’s Daughter and Matisyahu at Jewlicious Festival which was awesome. The crowd was great and I had a lot of fun. Duvid Swirsky who played with me was amazing as he always is and it was really a treat. Thank you to all of you who came out to the show and to all of you who tuned in via ustream.com, I hope you enjoyed the set. If you didn’t make the live stream, we missed you! but don’t worry…our goal is to try and make future performances streamable as well.

Finally thank you to everyone who’s been giving me feedback on the music and on the videos. I put out these video podcasts into the world and have no idea what happens with them and who’s watching, so anytime I get an email from you, a tweet or a facebook/youtube comment it makes my day and it gives me energy to keep making more videos for all of you! So…thank you for watching, for commenting and for spreading my music to all corners of this big beautiful globe.

1234 Feist Cover and other goodies

Hello friends!

First of all…thank you for reading my blog watching my videos and being a fan and a friend.

For this week’s podcast I decided to do a cover of a song that I really like “1234″ by Feist. I had fun. I hope you like it. Download, Tweet it, share it, post it, play it…

These past weeks have been really exciting. I had the honor of being invited to be a part of 2 radio shows: KRUU FM’S Lyrical Venus and KGRL’s NMM. This week I also delved deeper into the world of online music sites and uploaded my music to Uvumi, The Sixty One and Our Stage. I was incredibly pleased when I received an email the next day informing me that all 5 of my songs had made it to the top of the charts on Uvumi with “Favorite Two” reaching number 3 in the “Indie Pop” charts and number 8 on the “All Songs” charts, and “Tea For Two” reaching number 3 in the “Pop” charts. VIDEO PODCAST EPISODE 5 – “Tea For Two”

Lots of good stuff…first I was very honored to be on two radio shows this past week: Lyrical Venus on Tuesday morning and KGRL on Wednesday morning…this meant that I had to get up really really early (7am) which to me is just ridiculous because I go to bed so late…however it was truly a pleasure to chat with Heather @lyricalvenus and also to chat with Mysty and KGRL listeners on the flower box. If you have never listened to these stations I highly recommend that you do! They feature really beautiful music and very talented artists and I was certainly very honored and grateful to be a part.

I am getting geared up for my upcoming performance at Jewlicious Music Festival on February 21st!…and the good news is…it looks like we’ll be able to stream it live so you can be a part of it too, no matter where in the world you are!! Stay tuned as I will be confirming this in the coming days and giving details as to the exact time and url to log in to watch the concert.

Finally I had a lot of fun doing this week’s podcast. I was a bit sick that day, but playing with my friend Duvid Swirsky (from the band MOSHAV) was a real treat. I hope you guys will enjoy it

Episode 4 – Cover of Real Love by John Lennon

Hi guys and gals! So for this week’s podcast I decided to cover a beautiful song by John Lennon. I was inspired by the original version which he recorded 6 very rough takes of in the studio. It was never released until there was a documentary made which included this unreleased track as part of the film and it shot up the charts. I love it because the original recording is raw and imperfect…So this is my take on it…it is not an easy song for me to play because the chords keep going in and out of key so I made a few mistakes here and there and I said wart instead of heart (but I meant to say heart so just imagine that) but all in all I had fun and I hope you will enjoy it!

NYC

On my first day in NYC I was greeted with the awesomest news that the hard copies of my EP had arrived! Thanks to everyone who’s been ordering, it makes me the happiest to make the trip to the post office to send them to you!

It has been very cold and windy here. There was some snow too, but it got washed away by the rain…walking down the streets of NYC is no fun really when it is 27º F (-3º C) outside and you’re not equipped for the cold…however I must say that the fact that I was heading to the studio do some work did make it a bit better…nothing like being back in NYC and making music with talented people!

Heading back to L.A. tomorrow…I hope the airport is not too crazy!

(By the way…if you think my smile looks funny it’s because my lips have been destroyed by the cold and it is hard to smile…and no I am not trying to cover up on the second pic…but the EP and I didn’t both fit so something had to be sacrificed!)
